Duty in the day and film shooting at night

Anvesh told that the story of this film is woven from the stories of common people, which includes tribal people struggling in the forests of Odisha to transgenders struggling to run their households. Anvesh, a 2013 batch IRS officer in the Indian Revenue Service, has always been inspired by stories related to common people. That is why he thought of making the story of common people with their support and reaching them. Anvesh is currently on the post of Joint Commissioner in GST, but despite this he has proved that if you have the zeal and passion to fulfill your dream, then you can fulfill your dream even with your responsibilities.

Anvesh's film will go to film festivals

When asked about the film The Tale of Ordinary Lives, Anvesh said, “It is a people's film. We are looking at it like a startup. We couldn't have made this film without the people. The film will not only be screened at international film festivals, but there will also be some private screenings. It will be screened at the Toronto Film Festival, Busan Film Festival and Berlin Film Festival.”

This is how I developed an interest in filmmaking while being an IRS officer

How did you get inclined towards films? And how did you decide to make your own film? When Anvesh was asked about this, he said, 'I took training in classical Hindustani singing for two-and-a-half years and then got a bachelor's degree in performing arts. My association with films started when I was studying in Lucknow. I used to make short films. I used to do jingles and advertisements. Then I came to Mumbai and started making short films. After post graduation, I opened my own film firm, where I made commercial and corporate films. Then I joined the civil services in 2013, but music and cinema were going on. I mostly made documentaries for the government.'

'Shot during holidays and at night'

He further said, 'Then I thought I should make my own film. But a lot of resources are needed to make a film. Then I started writing the concept, then found some technicians, made some friends and then in 2022 I started shooting the film. Everyone's convenience had to be taken care of. So we shot here and there mostly during holidays. Since it is a common man's film, it was completed with the help of people.'

What is the story and cast of the movie?

Anvesh told that the story of The Tale of Ordinary Lives came to mind after seeing common life and common people. He said, 'I had the structure of the script.
