As much as the players of Kolkata Knight Riders are being praised for this victory in IPL 2024, their mentor Gautam Gambhir is also being praised as much. And it is not a mere coincidence that Gautam Gambhir has contributed to winning all three IPL titles. KKR won the first two titles (2012 and 2014) under Gambhir's captaincy. Now when KKR wins the title in 2024, Gautam Gambhir will be the mentor of the team.

IPL Final KKR vs SRH: The one who snatched the World Cup from India, scored a century in the final, KKR did not even let him open his account

The final of IPL 2024 was played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders in Chennai. Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins won the toss and decided to bat first but his batsmen disappointed. KKR started taking wickets from the very first over and bowled out SRH for just 113 runs. In this way, the Sunrisers Hyderabad team, which scored the highest in the IPL, scored the lowest in the final. The SRH team could not even play the full 20 overs. It collapsed in 18.3 overs.

Hyderabad's batting flopped badly
Sunrisers Hyderabad's batting flopped badly. Its star opener Travis Head returned to the pavilion on a golden duck while the other opener Abhishek Sharma could score only 2 runs. Rahul Tripathi, who came to bat at number three, was out after scoring 9 runs. In this way, Sunrisers Hyderabad lost its top-3 batsmen for just 21 runs.

Cummins passes 100 runs
After the top order flopped badly, the middle order also disappointed. Nitish Reddy got out after scoring 13 runs, Heinrich Klaasen 16, Shahbaz Ahmed 8 and Abdul Samad 4 runs. Due to this, SRH was in danger of getting all out under 100 runs. Captain Pat Cummins played an innings of 24 runs and took his team to 113 runs. Andre Russell took the maximum of 3 wickets for KKR. Mitchell Starc and Harshit Rana took two wickets each.

Venkatesh-Gurbaaz's winning partnership
The target of 114 runs was never difficult and the way KKR batted, it seemed that they could easily achieve a score of more than 200. Opener Sunil Narine could not do much in batting in the final and was dismissed after scoring 6 runs. But Venkatesh Iyer (52) and opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz (39), who came at number three, brought their team close to the target with explosive batting. Both of them shared a partnership of 91 runs in just 45 balls and took their team to 102 runs. Gurbaz was dismissed on this score. But Venkatesh Iyer did not make any mistake. He, along with captain Shreyas Iyer (6), led his team to victory in the 11th over.
