New DelhiIndia's defense company Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has received an order for 156 light combat helicopters from the Ministry of Defense. With the new order, HAL's stock is seeing a rise of more than 5 percent and at 12 noon it was at Rs 5,470. In a regulatory filing by HAL, it was said that the company has received a Request for Proposal (RPF) from the Ministry of Defense for 156 light combat helicopters. Out of 156 helicopters, 90 helicopters are for the Indian Army and 66 helicopters are for the Indian Air Force.

Defense Minister had expressed commitment

Along with this, we have to achieve self-sufficiency in defense needs. Before receiving the new order of 156 Light Combat Helicopters, HAL had an order book of Rs 38,561 crore.

The defense industry is growing rapidly

Recently, an agreement has been signed between India and America to make advanced GE engines. HAL will make these engines. The defense industry in India is developing rapidly. Another government defense company Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has an order book of Rs 75,934 crore. L&T, which does business in the defense sector, has an order book of Rs 94,000 crore.
