Indian Coast Guard delegation participates in World Border Security Congress in Istanbul

A two-member Indian Coast Guard delegation led by Additional Director General S Paramesh participated in the World Border Security Congress 2024 held in Istanbul, Turkey.

The event was held in Istanbul from 24–26 April.

The Indian Coast Guard presented a maritime perspective to Congress on “maritime boundary challenges” and discussed possible solutions.

The event highlighted the meeting of coast guards and border agencies around the world with the aim of promoting cooperation and addressing contemporary maritime issues.

Furthermore, India and Türkiye share historical relations. Diplomatic relations were established in 1948 and ambassadors were exchanged.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, high-level visits were exchanged regularly.

In recent times, bilateral relations have been strengthened by exchange of visits by leaders of the two countries.

In addition, there has also been an exchange of parliamentary delegations between the two countries.

Members of Parliament have also been interacting with each other in multilateral parliamentary conferences.
