Vaughan said in the Club Prairie Fire podcast, “International cricket comes first but the pressure in the IPL is no less than that. The pressure these players have to face from fans, owners and social media is huge. By calling the players back, England deprived them of the experience of that pressure. The pressure of the IPL playoffs and the pressure of the audience would have been a much better preparation than playing T20 against Pakistan.”
He further said, “Especially Salt and Jacques would have learned a lot and their preparation would have become stronger. I am not insulting the Pakistan or England team but there is a lot of pressure in the IPL and its level is better than that bilateral series.”
