Former captain's prediction on T20 WC, number 10 team will play semi-final

New Delhi. The excitement about the ICC T20 World Cup is gradually increasing. Many veterans are making their own predictions about this mega tournament. In this episode, former West Indies captain Brian Lara has announced the names of the four teams reaching the semi-finals. According to him, this time the Pakistan team will be eliminated early while the team ranked 10th in the T20 rankings will be successful in making it to the semi-finals.

This year's ICC T20 World Cup is to be played under the hosting of USA and West Indies Cricket Board. The tournament will be held from 1 to 29 June. England is the defending champion and the veteran believes that the English team is a contender to reach the semi-finals this time too. Former West Indies captain Brian Lara named his four semi-final teams on the show of Star Sports, which is broadcasting the match.

Which teams will play the semi-finals

Brian Lara said that the Indian team is a contender to win the tournament. He hoped that the host team West Indies will make it to the semi-finals. Apart from India and West Indies, one of the two teams is defending champion England while the other is Afghanistan which is currently ranked 10th in the ICC T20 rankings. Lara believes that this team has the potential to make it to the last four.

ICC T20 Ranking

At present, the Indian team is at the first position in the ICC T20 team rankings. Australia is at the second position while England is at the third position. It is followed by South Africa, New Zealand and West Indies. Pakistan team is at the seventh position in the T20 rankings while Sri Lanka is at the eighth and Bangladesh is at the ninth position. In the current rankings, Afghanistan comes at the tenth position.
