New Delhi. Former captain of Pakistan women's cricket team, Bismah Maroof has announced her retirement from international cricket. The cricket world is shocked by Bismah's sudden retirement announcement. 32 year old Bismah has made herself available in league cricket. Bismah took a long break from cricket in 2020 due to fitness reasons and in 2021 after the birth of his daughter. Bismah, who took her daughter with her to the 2022 World Cup in New Zealand, had made a lot of headlines. She was the first female cricketer of Pakistan to get 12 months maternity leave with pay.

Left-handed batsman Bismah Maroof made his ODI debut against India in 2006 and played 276 international matches for Pakistan. He made his debut in T20 cricket in 2009 against Ireland. He scored 6262 international runs including 33 half-centuries and took 80 wickets with leg spin bowling. Bismah, one of the best women cricketers of Pakistan, scored 3369 runs in 136 ODIs. His average during this period was 29.55. He scored 21 half centuries. His best score was 99 runs. Bismah has 2893 runs in his name in 140 T20 International matches. Bismah scored 12 half centuries in T20.

Bismah Maroof said, 'I am bidding farewell to the sport that I love the most. It has been a wonderful journey in which we have seen many challenges, victories and memorable moments. I want to thank my family who supported me throughout this journey. Apart from this, I will also thank Pakistan Cricket Board.

Took part in 4 ODIs and 8 World Cups
Bismah Maroof played four 50-over World Cups (2009, 2013, 2017 and 2022) and was also the captain of the team in 2022. She played 8 World Cups in T20 cricket between 2009 and 2023 and was the captain of the team in 2020 and 2023. Bismah captained a total of 96 matches, which included 62 T20 and 34 ODI Internationals. Under his captaincy, Bismah won 27 matches in T20 and 16 in ODI.
