Harpreet said, “My cricket career started in 2007. When I used to play with my friends. A friend of mine had joined the cricket academy. Seeing this, I also convinced my parents for this. I started working on my skills. After that I got a chance to play for Punjab Under 16. I played a lot of cricket for the club. On the question related to going to Canada, Harpreet said, “There is no story of Canada. God has said above that Punjabis have to go to Canada. But here (in India) everything went well for me. That's why I didn't go to Canada.”

Brar further said, “Before Ranji Trophy, we used to have selection matches here. Last year I was the bowler taking the highest wickets. Despite this my name was not in the list. To be honest, I did not know the reason for this. My aim now is to play for India. I have heard from many players that I can perform well in Test cricket. Rahul Dravid also praised my bowling.
