New Delhi: The main opposition party Congress on Monday demanded action against BJP's IT cell chief Amit Malviya. Congress leader Supriya Shrinate, citing an RSS worker, made serious allegations against Malviya. She said that the RSS worker has accused Malviya of sexually harassing women.

Congress demanded his removal from the post
Congress leader Supriya Shrinate said, “RSS member Shantanu Sinha, a relative of BJP leader Rahul Sinha, has said that BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya is involved in disgusting activities. He is sexually harassing women. Not just in 5-star hotels, but also in BJP offices in West Bengal. The only thing we want from the BJP is that women get justice…The fact is that within less than 24 hours of PM Modi’s swearing-in, serious allegations of sexual harassment have been levelled against a very prominent functionary of the BJP, the chief of its IT cell…Today we demand the immediate removal of Amit Malviya from his post. This is an extremely influential post. It is a powerful post and there can be no independent investigation. There can be no independent investigation. Unless he is removed from his post, there can be no justice.”

BJP leaders sent legal notice
Let us tell you that Amit Malviya's legal team had sent a legal notice to RSS member Shantanu Sinha on June 8. This notice reads, “…The nature of the allegations is extremely objectionable, as they falsely allege sexual misconduct allegedly committed by my client. This is detrimental to the dignity and reputation of my client, who is a public figure by virtue of his professional profile…”

Amit Malviya said, 'Since Congress and before that TMC in West Bengal had held a press conference on the derogatory post. The three-day notice is ending tomorrow on June 11. After this, appropriate action will be taken.'
