BJP faces the challenge of maintaining its dominance in two phases, will the number of seats increase in Punjab?

New Delhi: In the last two phases of Lok Sabha elections, BJP faces the challenge of maintaining its dominance and creating a new space. There are two last phases left on May 25 and June 1, in which voting is to be held on a total of 115 seats. These include all 7 seats in Delhi, all 10 seats in Haryana, all 4 seats in Himachal Pradesh and all 13 seats in Punjab. In the last Lok Sabha elections, BJP had won all the seats in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Delhi, whereas it had won only two seats in Punjab. This time, BJP faces the challenge of maintaining its old performance in Delhi, Himachal and Haryana and increasing its numbers in Punjab.

BJP alone in Punjab

For the first time, BJP is contesting elections on its own in Punjab. Till now BJP has been contesting elections in alliance with Akali Dal. In the last Lok Sabha elections, BJP contested on three seats, out of which it won 2 seats. This time BJP candidates are contesting on all 13 seats. BJP is relying on the name of PM Modi here. Due to being in alliance for a long time, BJP could not focus on strengthening its organization here. Also, it could not prepare its Sikh leaders. However, to compensate for this, BJP has included many big Sikh leaders from other parties in the party. Here BJP leaders are also constantly trying to convince the farmers. The maximum impact of the farmers' movement was seen in Punjab. Recently PM Modi was seen serving langar in the Gurudwara, many times his picture wearing a turban has surfaced.

Congress has put in all its strength for the remaining two phases; the party has special expectations from these states.

Efforts to reduce the anti-incumbency wave

In the last Lok Sabha elections, all the 10 Lok Sabha seats of Haryana went to BJP. It is a challenge for BJP to maintain this performance, but it also has to deal with anti-incumbency. As part of this effort, BJP changed its Chief Minister just before the elections. BJP made Naib Singh Saini, who comes from OBC community, the CM. A large number of youth from Haryana join the army and here in every area you will find youth preparing for recruitment in the army. Opposition parties are making Agniveer an issue and BJP is trying to ensure that he does not suffer any loss.

Water shortage started in Delhi amid rising mercury, Tu-Tu, Main-Main between AAP-BJP

target on kejriwal

At present, BJP has MPs on all seven seats in Delhi, but this time Congress and AAP are contesting the elections in alliance. BJP's strategy is to continuously attack Arvind Kejriwal. From the alleged liquor scam to the Swati Maliwal controversy, BJP is targeting AAP by holding press conferences every day. From the general secretary of BJP to the spokesperson and the Chief Minister, everyone is constantly targeting Kejriwal. In Delhi, BJP is attacking AAP more than Congress. In the last election in Himachal Pradesh, BJP had won all four seats, but lost one seat in the by-election held in 2021. Here too, BJP is trying to repeat its old performance with the help of PM Modi's name. The difference between the last election and this election is that then there was a BJP government in the state and now there is a Congress government there.
