Banks will remain open on March 31, know which service customers will get

RBI had given information about this by issuing a notification on 20 March 2024. It was told that all agency banks will have to remain open on Saturday (30 March) as well as Sunday (31 March).

Which service will continue on 31 March 2024

• The RBI notification asks agency banks engaged in government banking operations to keep their counters open during regular working hours on March 30 and 31. All electronic transactions will also be available till the stipulated time on both the days.
• Transactions done through National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) and Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) system will continue to operate normally till midnight of March 31, 2024. RBI has advised agency banks to present all checks related to government accounts.
• Special Deposit Scheme (SDS) 1975
• PPF Scheme, 1968
• Senior Citizen Saving Scheme, 2004
• Kisan Vikas Patra, 2014 and Sukanya Samriddhi Account
• Reserve Bank bonds and savings bonds etc. as eligible for agency commission.
