Application starts for National Teacher Award 2024, know eligibility and other details

Teacher National Award: The Ministry of Education (MoU) has started the application process for National Teacher Award (Higher Education) 2024. Eligible candidates can fill the details and submit the application form as per the instructions. According to the notification, this award is for all faculty members of colleges, universities, higher educational institutions/polytechnics across the country. The winners are given a cash prize of Rs 50000 along with a medal and certificate. Eligibility for registration
i) The person registering must be a member of the regular faculty.
ii) Must have at least five years of full-time teaching experience at the undergraduate/or postgraduate level.
iii) Age should not exceed 55 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications for the awards.
iv) Vice Chancellor/Director/Principal (Regular or Acting) are not eligible to apply.

However, individuals who have previously held such positions but are below 55 years of age and are still in active service are eligible to apply.

Selection Process
1) Candidates will be shortlisted.
2) There will be a committee of 'Jury' to finalize the award winners from among the shortlisted candidates. On whose behalf he will be selected.

20th June is the last date for application
The last date for filing nominations for the awards is June 20, 2024. A total of thirty-five awards (25 in Category-I and 10 in Category-II) are awarded every year.

Selected candidates will be honored on this day
The selected awardees will be honoured on September 5 (Teachers' Day) to commemorate the birth anniversary of former President of India and educator Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
