Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna and Trupti Dimri starrer film 'Animal' was the superhit and most talked about film of the year 2023. Out of 100, 60 liked it while 40 criticized it and called it anti-women. At the same time, Anurag Kashyap had also said earlier this year that people have misunderstood filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga. He supported the director and appreciated the film. It was said that this is 'the biggest game changer of Hindi cinema'. Now the 'Gangs of Wasseypur' director has revealed why he chose to support the filmmaker when Sandeep Reddy Vanga was facing criticism from so many people. Anurag also said that people will understand the impact of 'Animal' after 5-10 years.

Anurag Kashyap liked Sandeep Reddy Vanga

Anurag Kashyap recently became a part of his daughter Alia Kashyap's podcast 'Young, Dumb and Anxious'. When Alia asked him about his Instagram post praising Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the actor-director revealed that when he met Sandeep, he liked him. He said, 'I had some questions of my own and wanted to talk to him about his film. I invited him and I had a five-hour long conversation and I liked the guy.

When Anurag Kashyap was considered an untouchable man

Alia was angry with Anurag regarding the promotion of this film. Because earlier when he had created a ruckus in front of him by calling it 'horrible' and 'anti-women', he had agreed with him. After this Anurag remembered when his film 'Dev D' was cancelled. She told Alia that when she was very young, he (Anurag) received a lot of criticism for 'Dev D' and was considered an untouchable man. He told how his 'Gangs of Wasseypur' was also criticized. “I've often seen people try to isolate someone, attack them, and that's not the way to do it,” he said.

Anurag Kashyap used to speak ill of Salman and Karan Johar.

Anurag also talked about the days on social media when he was a blogger and used to talk bad about the industry including Karan Johar and Salman Khan. However, with time he came to understand the importance of talking about issues through films rather than publicly attacking his work on social media. Anurag praised 'Animal' for its technical aspects and said that people 'will realize the impact of the film after 5-10 years.' Praising the action of the film, he said that after this film, the action of every film now seems fake.
