There are 5 species of Buransh found in Uttarakhand, which usually bloom at a height between 1500 to 4000 meters, but the blooming of White Buransh at this height is a very interesting thing. This is a poisonous flower. These days, white plums are blooming in Selang village, located at an altitude of 1800 meters above sea level in Joshimath block of Chamoli district, which are looking very beautiful. It is worth noting that White Buransh blooms at a height of 9 thousand to 10 thousand feet above sea level, but for the last several years, the blooming of White Buransh in Selang village is surprising the people.
Buransh tree is found at an altitude of 1500 to 4000 meters in the Himalayan regions. Talking about Buransh flowers, they are not just red in colour. Rather it is found in many colors. But in Uttarakhand it is found in red and white colours. Many medicinal properties are found in Buransh. Antioxidant, antidiarrheal and anti-diabetic properties are found in Buransh. This juice is used for heart patients, kidney, liver and to increase blood cells.
Effective in treating these diseases
SS Rana, a pharmacist working in the Ayurvedic Hospital of Rudraprayag, tells PressNews24 that white gourd is called Chimul, Ratpa in the local language, which is used as a traditional medicine. He explains that a paste is made by grinding its leaves, flowers and branches, which helps in curing joint pain, arthritis and headache. The leaves and stem of white birch tree contain phenolic acid, from which HIV medicines are made. Due to which it is considered very important in the manufacturing of allopathic medicines.
Reason for blooming of white birch in low lying areas
Rana says that due to the blooming of Buransh in spring, children use its flowers during Phulari (flower festival), due to which it is very good for traditional medicine, cultural, religious and also for the environment. Meanwhile, VP Bhatt, Professor of Botany at Shivanand Nautiyal Government Post Graduate College, tells PressNews24 that sometimes due to some reasons, the seeds of white gourd reach the lower places. Due to different environmental setup, there is morphological change in the first and second generation of its tree. Not only this, there is also a possibility of genetic traits changing in the 5th and 6th generation. In such a situation it becomes a new species or subspecies.
