New Delhi: Although the Aam Aadmi Party, which came to power by defeating the Congress in Delhi, had decided to fight the Lok Sabha elections together by joining hands in some states including Delhi, but the Congress and AAP will not contest the assembly elections after the Lok Sabha elections together. However, both of them fought the Lok Sabha elections separately in Punjab. Talks of alliance with Congress were already going on from the side of AAP, but now Congress is also confirming it. Congress media department in-charge Jairam Ramesh said that there is not much scope for an alliance with AAP in the assembly elections of Delhi and Haryana. However, the Bharat Gathbandhan will remain intact in the assembly elections of Maharashtra and Jharkhand.AAP and Congress do not want alliance in Haryana and Delhi
It is noteworthy that elections are to be held in Haryana, Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Jammu Kashmir in the coming days, while elections are to be held in Delhi early next year. Both Congress and AAP do not want an alliance in Haryana and Delhi. Actually, it is deeply ingrained in the Congress that wherever AAP has grown, it has won by taking the vote bank of Congress. Delhi and Punjab are examples of this. This is the reason that there were a lot of difficulties in coordination between the two parties in the Lok Sabha. However, both the parties have their own compulsions regarding the upcoming assembly. After winning five seats in Haryana Lok Sabha, the spirits of Congress are very high. Looking at the anti-incumbency wave against the BJP for ten years, Congress is very excited. It sees the possibility of victory for itself this time. In such a situation, it does not want to prepare the ground for AAP by making any kind of alliance with AAP there. At the same time, Congress understands that the alliance with AAP in the Kurukshetra of Haryana has not been effective on the ground.

AAP does not want alliance with Congress even in Delhi
On the other hand, AAP also does not want to give Congress a ground base by joining hands with it in Delhi. In fact, despite putting in all its efforts in the three elections held in Delhi since 2013, Congress has not been able to win even a single seat. BJP has become the main opposition party against AAP in the Assembly. In such a situation, AAP is not ready to give any kind of lifeline to Congress by joining hands with it. However, the dedicated vote bank of AAP is the same which was once the solid vote bank of Congress.

Congress will be part of the alliance in Maharashtra and Jharkhand
On the other hand, Congress indicated that Congress will be a part of the alliance in Maharashtra and Jharkhand. In Maharashtra, Congress performed well in the recent elections by being a part of the Maha Vikas Aghadi. There, Congress is not only together with Shiv Sena, UBT and NCP, SC for about four and a half years, but these three parties are working in mutual harmony not only in Maharashtra but also at the national level. Its effect was also seen in the recent elections. Not only Congress, Maha Vikas Aghadi is seeing better chances of its victory in Maharashtra in the upcoming elections. Even though the Congress-JMS alliance did not perform very well in Jharkhand, Congress is hopeful that their alliance will perform well in Jharkhand.
