New Delhi. When the Sri Lankan team entered their first match of the T20 World Cup 2024 against South Africa, the captain's plan was to make a strong start to the tournament by taking two points. South African fast bowler Anrich Norkia dashed the intentions of Lankan captain Wanindu Hasaranga. Norkia, who took four wickets in the match, changed the direction of the wind. He broke the back of the Lankan batting order by taking three wickets in 10 balls. Sri Lankan T20 was all out for just 77 runs. This is Sri Lanka's lowest score in the T20 format so far. India has got a lot to learn from this match.

Captain Aiden Markram put Enrique Norkia on the bowling attack in the eighth over. He dismissed Kamindu Mendis on the fifth ball. After this, Norkia was again on the bowling attack in the 10th over. He got Kusal Mendis caught out on the last ball after scoring 19 runs. In the 12th over, he also dismissed Aslanka on a personal score of six runs.

The lowest economy ever recorded
With this, Anrich Norkia has made the record of bowling the lowest economy spell in the history of T20 World Cup. He gave only seven runs in his four overs at an economy of 1.80. During this, he also took four wickets. This record was earlier in the name of Sri Lanka's Ajantha Mendis. He made this record against Zimbabwe in the 2012 T20 World Cup.

How is this a warning sign for India?
It is natural to have this question in mind that the teams of Sri Lanka and South Africa are not even in India's group. In such a situation, how can this be a sign of danger for the team captained by Rohit Sharma. Actually, the reason for this is not Sri Lanka and South Africa but the pitch of Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. This ground of New York is brand new, where a drop-in pitch has been made. Usually a drop-in pitch is considered good for batting but uneven bounce is being seen here. The pitch is said to be very slow, due to which batsmen are facing a lot of difficulty in playing shots. India has to play three out of four matches of the group stage on this pitch. Even during the practice match, Team India had to struggle a lot to score runs on this pitch. In such a situation, Team India will have to bat carefully.
