New Delhi: A major accident has happened with the Indian Army soldiers in Ladakh. In the Daulat Beg Oldi area, Indian Army soldiers were practicing crossing the river in a tank. During this time, the flow of the river suddenly increased due to which five soldiers were swept away in the river. According to the information given by the army, five soldiers have lost their lives in this accident. Let us tell you that this accident happened near the LAC border with China.

Rajnath Singh expressed grief over the accident

Expressing grief over this tragic accident in Ladakh, Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh wrote on Twitter – Five of our brave Indian Army soldiers were martyred in an unfortunate accident while crossing the river in Ladakh. I am deeply saddened to know this. My condolences are with the families of those soldiers. The country stands firmly with them in this hour of grief.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also tweeted

At the same time, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has also expressed grief over this accident. He wrote on the post – We are deeply saddened by the death of 5 brave Indian Army soldiers including a JCO while crossing the river in Ladakh. Our heartfelt condolences to the families of the military personnel who became victims of this painful tragedy. In this hour of grief, the whole country stands to salute the service of our brave soldiers.

Speaking to ANI, defense officials gave information about the accident. They said that five army personnel, including a Junior Commissioner Officer (JCO), were martyred in this accident. Defense officials said that the bodies of all have been recovered and the tank on which the soldiers died in the accident was the Indian Army's T-72 tank. The Indian Army has been using this tank for a long time.
