Karthik was given a guard of honour by his RCB teammates after the IPL Eliminator match played against Rajasthan Royals. Virat Kohli hugged Karthik and sent him off the field with moist eyes. Karthik scored 11 runs off 13 balls in his last innings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. RCB are out of IPL after losing to Rajasthan Royals. Karthik had said before the start of the season that this IPL is going to be the last season of his career.

After losing the match to Rajasthan, Dinesh Karthik accepted the greetings of the audience by raising gloves in both hands. Kohli hugged Karthik. Karthik also got emotional and left the field. 38-year-old Dinesh Karthik scored 326 runs in 15 matches in IPL 2024. During this, he scored runs at a strike rate of 187.36. RCB had given him the role of the team's finisher but this season Karthik could not play his role properly. He scored 2 half-centuries this season. Karthik hit 27 fours and 22 sixes.
