In a dramatic turn of events during the third Test against England, Yashasvi Jaiswal, the talented opener for Team India, faced an unfortunate injury setback shortly after achieving a century.

Yashasvi Jaiswal showcased his prowess with the bat, slamming his third Test century on Day 3 of the Rajkot Test against England. However, the joy of his remarkable achievement was short-lived. Following the completion of his century, Jaiswal complained of lower back pain, prompting the team physio to intervene. Captains Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid expressed concern in the dressing room as Jaiswal continued to battle the discomfort.

The Indian opener, who had posed a significant challenge to the English team with his sublime form, displayed a classical Test approach initially and then seamlessly shifted gears towards a more aggressive style, especially against James Anderson. Jaiswal reached his half-century with a spectacular six off Tom Hartley and continued his aggressive onslaught against the England spin trio, reaching the hundred-run milestone in just 42 balls.

Unfortunately, the celebration of his century was overshadowed by a sudden onset of lower back pain. Speculations arose among on-air commentators Ravi Shastri and Sunil Gavaskar, suggesting that the energetic leap during his celebration might have triggered the discomfort.

After receiving attention from the Indian physio, Jaiswal faced a dilemma on whether to continue. Despite his efforts, one over later, his expressions revealed the intensity of his agony. The decision was then made to retire him hurt from the innings.

As Jaiswal left the field, he received a well-deserved standing ovation from the crowd, teammates, and team management. Rajat Patidar stepped in as his replacement, but his stay at the crease was short-lived, being dismissed for a ten-ball duck. The unexpected turn of events left Team India and fans alike concerned about the star opener’s fitness moving forward.
