Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza said after the defeat, 'The world champion team will play like a world champion. I think our fielding was not good. We missed some chances for which we had to pay the price.' Madhevere stood firm at one end but wickets kept falling at the other end and only formality was left. According to Sikandar Raza, 'We definitely had to pay the price for dropping catches. I was expecting 200 runs on this wicket today. But we scored 30 runs more. When we went out to chase the target, we thought it would be a very close match but it did not happen. Our top order flopped.'
