New Delhi: The committee of the Union Education Ministry, which is preparing the roadmap for zero-error examination, is working on a three-pronged strategy, which for the first time includes studying the best practices at the international level as well as giving importance to every suggestion of Indian students and parents. Sources say that the committee is mapping all the examination centers of the National Testing Agency (NTA) and examining every stage of various modes of examination (computer-based test, pen and paper, hybrid mode). Keeping data security protocol as the top priority, the seven-member committee has also taken the help of experts from IIT Kanpur. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has said that it is the commitment of the Central Government to make the examination process 100 percent transparent, tamper-free and zero-error examination. This committee has been formed to fulfill this objective. The Education Minister is also constantly meeting the students and their suggestions are being taken seriously. Sources in the Education Ministry say that this committee is considering holistic possibilities from 360 degrees to increase transparency and confidence of students in the examination system.

Three-pronged strategy
The high level committee has adopted a three-pronged strategy. Short-term measures suggest measures to improve and bring transparency in the upcoming examination system. Medium-term measures decide how these examination reforms will be implemented on a large scale and long-term challenges include operational reforms to be implemented in NTA. The help of IIT Kanpur's software engineering expert Professor Amey Karkare and high security and applied cryptography expert Professor Debapriya Roy is also being taken to implement multiple checks and balances and data security protocols. Sources say that the committee is closely looking at every step including paper setting, transfer of question paper to the examination center. What is the process of giving paper in the examination center, where has the problem occurred in the current examination, how can the problem of leakage be eradicated from the root?

Best Practices Internationally
Sources say that international best practices have been studied for examinations conducted on a large scale. The opinion of UGC, National Medical Commission, National Board of Examination (Medical Sciences) has also been taken. Apart from this, in a meeting with multiple agencies conducting the examination, TCS, ION, NSEIT, it was understood what their practice is, what is their best practice, what are the security protocols, what are the shortcomings, how to overcome them?

A completely changed look of NTA will be seen
The process of preparing a blueprint for changes in the structure and functioning of NTA is going on at a very fast pace. Sources say that now the data security protocols will change completely. There will also be major changes in the structure and functioning of NTA. All the examinations conducted by NTA are being analyzed at macro and micro level. Many things have become clear on the blueprint of making NTA a world-class examination agency and data security protocols will prove to be the most important link in it. The committee will give its report on every pattern of the examination so that the security and transparency of the examination remains supreme in any mode.
