Jimmy Shergill’s Two Decades in Showbiz
Jimmy Shergill, a veteran of the entertainment industry with over 20 years of experience, is no stranger to memorable performances. One such moment etched in the minds of his fans is his cameo in the 2003 hit movie, “Munna Bhai MBBS,” where he portrayed a terminally ill patient, leaving a lasting impact on the audience.
A Lighthearted Anecdote from Shergill
In a recent conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Jimmy Shergill shared a humorous anecdote from his time filming “Munna Bhai MBBS” two decades ago. At that time, he was juggling commitments between this iconic movie and another project, “Agnipankh,” being filmed in Pune. To fulfill his “Munna Bhai MBBS” obligations, Shergill embarked on a daily journey from Pune to Mumbai, where the film was being shot.
The Secret Behind On-Set Catnaps
As Shergill reminisces, there was a particular instance when the crew was busy preparing the set for filming. During this downtime, Shergill would don a hospital patient’s attire and seize the opportunity for quick power naps on the hospital beds, which were part of the film’s set. Why, you ask? Well, he had a shrewd strategy behind it. Knowing that they would be shooting through the night, these short naps helped him recharge. If anyone roused him suddenly, he would promptly transition from slumber to shooting, albeit a bit bleary-eyed and disheveled. Interestingly, people were genuinely impressed with his dedication to staying “in character,” even though the full story remained unknown to them.
Bonds Beyond the Silver Screen
Aside from his amusing recollection, Shergill also fondly spoke about his experience working with Arshad Warsi, his co-star in “Munna Bhai MBBS.” Both actors made their debuts in the same year, 1996, and have maintained a strong friendship since. Shergill’s camaraderie with Warsi extends beyond the movies, as Warsi is set to be a guest narrator on Shergill’s upcoming show, “Choona.”
