West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee arrived in Mumbai to participate in the meeting of the opposition alliance India (INDIA). When asked about the potential Prime Ministerial candidate of the alliance, she stated that the face of the Prime Minister would be India itself. She emphasized that their fight is focused on saving the country. She also commented on recent changes in the price of cooking gas cylinders, stating that prices were reduced due to upcoming elections.
Banerjee congratulated ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) on the success of Chandrayaan-3, the moon landing mission. She further expressed her happiness at tying Rakhi (a traditional Indian ceremony) to Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan, and praised his contributions to the country. She mentioned that if it were in her power, she would confer the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award, upon Amitabh Bachchan.
Banerjee also extended invitations to several celebrities, including the Bachchan family, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Anil Kapoor, for the upcoming Durga Puja and International Film Festival.
The meeting of the India Alliance, comprising 28 political parties, is scheduled to be held on August 31 and September 1 in Mumbai. The alliance aims to discuss key political strategies and agendas.
