New Delhi. Gujarat's 18-year-old teenager Dron Desai has created a stir in the cricket world with his explosive batting. Playing for St. Xavier's (Loyola), this youngster registered his name in the record books by scoring 498 runs against JL English School in the Diwan Ballubhai Cup Under-19 Multi-Day Tournament. In this tournament organized by Central Cricket Board Ahmedabad under Gujarat Cricket Association, he created a new record by hitting 86 fours. Dron is the sixth batsman from India to score more than 400 runs in a single innings in Under-19 cricket.

Dron Desai, playing for St. Xavier's School in the Diwan Ballubhai Cup Under-19 Multi-Day Tournament, thrashed the bowlers of JL English School. He scored 498 runs in 320 balls with 7 sixes and 86 fours. Due to his innings, Dron's team won the match by an innings and 712 runs.

Sixth Indian to score more than 400 runs

Dron Desai is the sixth Indian to score more than 400 runs in a single match in Under 19 cricket. The record for playing the biggest innings is registered in the name of Mumbai's Pranav Dhanawade. This batsman played an unbeaten innings of 1009 runs. Mumbai's Prithvi Shaw is in second place with an innings of 546 runs. Dron has now joined the prestigious list of young cricketers who have broken many records including Havewala (515), Chamanlal (506*) and Armaan Jaffer (498).

After this, he left his mark in Under 19 cricket. Dron, who plays for St. Xavier's (Loyola) School, wants to make a place in the Under-19 team of Gujarat. This batsman is currently taking coaching from Jaiprakash Patel.
