Dubai. The Indian women's team intends to win the ICC Women's T20 World Cup for the first time under the captaincy of Harmanpreet Kaur. After the team is announced, India has to play against two teams before entering the tournament. Before the Women's T20 World Cup, the Indian team will play two practice matches against West Indies and South Africa in Dubai. The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced this on Tuesday.
India will face West Indies on September 29 while Harmanpreet Kaur's team will play South Africa on October 1. All the 10 teams that have qualified for the Women's T20 World Cup will play two practice matches each. The practice matches will begin on September 28 with matches between Pakistan and Scotland and Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

Defending champions Australia will take on arch-rivals England on September 29 and then West Indies in Dubai on October 1. The practice matches will be of 20 overs and will not be given the status of T20 Internationals, allowing each team to field all its 15 players in the match. No two teams from any group will face each other during the practice match.
India have been placed in Group A along with Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Group B comprises England, South Africa, West Indies, Scotland and Bangladesh. The tournament, which is scheduled to begin on October 3, will be held in the UAE given the current political instability in Bangladesh.
