Dev Anand, who considered Ashok Kumar as his inspiration, was blessed by God and it was Ashok Kumar who gave him a big break. It is said that he looked so handsome in this coloured court pants that girls wanted to marry him and then he even committed suicide.

Dev Anand had a conflict with the Indira Gandhi government

However, Dev Saheb had called it a rumour in his book 'Romancing with Life'. When Indira Gandhi government imposed emergency in the country, he opposed it and also formed a party named National Party of India, but Dev Anand dissolved the party when he could not find any candidate. Dev Anand said goodbye to this world on 3 December 2011. He was awarded Padma Bhushan in 2001 and Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2002.
