Why are twins born?
Usually a woman giving birth to twins is considered a cause of trouble. But this is not so. Sometimes a woman can give birth to twins due to the genetic condition of the family, fertility treatment, age, height, weight. According to experts, millions of sperms enter at a time during intercourse. Some die in the middle and some become inactive.
A healthy sperm fertilizes the egg, resulting in the birth of a single baby. Twins can occur when two separate eggs are fertilized in the womb, or when one fertilized egg splits into two embryos. According to the CDC, the number of twin births has nearly doubled in the past 40 years. Overall, such cases are becoming more common.
There are two types of twins
Twins: This type of pregnancy occurs when a fertilized egg splits into two separate embryos. These embryos are monozygotic. In this case, there are either two boys or two girls. They look almost identical.
fraternal twins: Such twins occur in pregnancy when two eggs are present in the womb during fertilization. When the sperm fertilizes these two eggs, the woman gives birth to twins. Such children are dizygotic. Meaning these are two siblings who are born together.
