Access Threads App on the Web
Meta’s Threads app, which was initially available as a mobile application, has now expanded its reach to the web. Users can access the Threads app through its web version by visiting www.threads.net on Google. This web version is compatible with both Windows and MacOS operating systems. This move comes after Instagram head, Adam Mosseri, hinted at the development of a web app for Threads, which has now become a reality.
Meta’s Efforts to Retain Userbase
Threads, launched by Meta in July, garnered massive attention with over 100 million users within just five days of its launch. However, the app’s userbase faced a decline soon after. Recent reports indicate a substantial drop in active users, with only around 10 million remaining. In contrast, Threads’ competitor, X, boasts approximately 363.7 million monthly active users. Threads’ traffic has dwindled by 80 to 82 percent over the last month.
In an attempt to revive the userbase and enhance user engagement, Meta has been diligently working on bringing users back to Threads. The company introduced various features to the app and has now extended its availability to the web. While the web version is in its early stages, Meta is focused on providing a comprehensive experience in the future.
Web Version Features and Interface
The web version of Threads mirrors the app’s interface, offering features like feed, search, post creation, liking posts, and profile management. Users have the option to switch between light and dark modes for their preferred viewing experience. Although the current web version has a limited set of features, Meta is expected to roll out further enhancements in the future.
