Reasons for postponement of UGC NET Exam: Amid reports of irregularities in the NEET exam, the exam scheduled for Sunday, January 23, was postponed and this step was taken as a precaution after the reports in the last few days. Meanwhile, the news of the postponement of the CSIR UGC NET exam is also in the headlines. There is a discussion on social media that after the NEET exam, the UGC NET exam paper has also been leaked, although Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has clarified all the rumors and speculations and told the real reason for the postponement of the UGC NET exam.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday said the top leadership of the National Testing Agency is under investigation over alleged irregularities in competitive exams NEET and NET, even as he ruled out any possibility of paper leak in the recently postponed CSIR-UGC NET.

The minister said he is the guardian of the students' interests and he should keep this in mind before taking any step. Amid the ongoing controversy over irregularities in the medical entrance exam NEET, Pradhan had said earlier this week that he cannot jeopardise the careers of lakhs of candidates who have cleared the exam in the right manner.

The joint Council of Scientific and Industrial Research and UGC-NET June exam was postponed on Friday night. The joint CSIR-UGC-NET is an exam conducted to determine eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professorship and for admission to PhD in science courses.

“There has been no leak in the CSIR-UGC NET, it has been postponed due to administrative reasons and logistical issues. There is also a re-examination of 1,563 NEET candidates tomorrow. This decision has been taken for the smooth conduct of the exam everywhere,” Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan told reporters.
