Bridgetown. The Indian cricket team ended its long trophy drought by winning the ICC T20 World Cup. Coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma were extremely disappointed after losing to Australia in the ODI World Cup final last year. Rahul Dravid, who is usually calm, was seen jumping like a child after winning the T20 World Cup and thanked his team for getting the trophy as a coach, which he could not win as a player.

Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, India defeated South Africa by seven runs in a thrilling final and ended the 11-year wait for the ICC title. After the victory, Dravid said, “I am at a loss for words in the last few hours. I am proud of this team, the way it fought in difficult circumstances. Registering such a victory after losing three wickets in the first six overs shows that this team is not going to give up the fighting spirit. As a player, I have not been so lucky to win the World Cup. I tried my best in my playing days but all this keeps happening in sports.”
