US phone restrictions: In the last decade, the use of smartphones has increased rapidly all over the world. Everyone is seen carrying some smartphone in their hands. During Covid, children's studies became online. Their classes started taking place on mobile phones and tablets. Due to this, children have become badly addicted to smartphones. Although classes have been going on offline for the last two years, even after this, children are reaching the classroom with mobile phones.
Something similar is being seen in America, where children coming to class are bringing smartphones. Because of this, they are not able to concentrate on studies because they are busy on social media or playing games. Children are also at risk of mental illness and hearing loss due to smartphones. Troubled by this, California, one of the largest states in America, has made a law, through which now bringing smartphones to the classroom will be banned.

Now, following the path of Los Angeles County, California has also banned about 60 lakh children from bringing smartphones to school. Children were not able to concentrate in one place due to phones in schools, which was causing problems for them. They were also not able to study properly.

Smartphones will be completely banned by 2026

The bill banning smartphones has passed the state Assembly 76-0 and the Senate 38-1. Under this law, school boards or other governing bodies will have to develop a policy to limit or prohibit the use of smartphones by students in school by July 1, 2026. They will also have to update the policy every five years. In this way, smartphones will not be banned right now, but will be completely banned within the next two years.

“We know that excessive smartphone use is linked to anxiety, depression and other mental health problems,” said Governor Gavin Newsom. “But we have the power to intervene. This new law will help students focus on academics, social development and the world in front of them while in school – not on screens.”
