After my father's death, the responsibility of the house fell on me. I came to Lucknow, studied here and then got a job. One day I came to Mumbai and thought of trying acting. Believe me, I did not even know the basics of acting and I never did it. I believe that acting is in you from birth, you just have to recognize it. After coming to Mumbai, I recognized the artist inside me.

When I started auditioning, I felt this was the right place. If there were no responsibilities, I would have probably been doing a bigger or lead role. However, due to responsibilities and the need for money, I did whatever role I got. The rule of the industry is that whatever character you do first, you get the same again and again. I was also offered many negative lead roles. I think I should have waited a little for the lead. But there was no time to wait. Well, everything is going well now, hopefully soon it will be even better.

Does not support influential people

As an artist, it is not wrong to be called an influencer in today's terms, but I do not support influencers at all. We artists work hard day and night, act, we do not just lip-sync and get likes. Those who are making reels today, lip-syncing to songs, if they are made to stand in front of the camera, they will not be able to act. Many shows in which influencers were given a chance also flopped. Producers and channels do not understand this. They think that if they have popularity, then take them. They are non-actors. They do not know how to act. They do not know how to speak dialogues.

Nowadays, because of reels girls and new influencers, even artists have to be active on social media. If they don't do so, they will suffer. I myself am active on social media, but I don't flaunt my body, in fact I can't do it at all. I read Shayari or things written by myself and my original voice gets millions of views. Still, I don't like being called an influencer.

This character is like my real life

I have played negative main characters before, but my character named Chandra in 'Dhruv Tara' is completely different from other characters. I feel Chandra is exactly like me. She is exactly like me in real life, so I am excited that for the first time I am presenting myself as a character on screen. The plot of this story is of 18th century, so we have to speak pure Hindi. Nowadays we speak a mixed language. So while playing this character, I read the script two to three times, so that I can pronounce those words correctly. Otherwise, in other shows, I used to read the script only once and be ready.

I feel at home in Lucknow. I still remember the moments I spent in the city

I remember Ambedkar Park in Lucknow

When I came to Lucknow from Gorakhpur, I studied at Deen Dayal School. I also started teaching at a school in Hazratganj. Then I used to do day care from afternoon till evening. After this, I used to go to Patrakarpuram to prepare for bank competition. After getting free from there, I used to sit in Ambedkar Park located at 1090 intersection. I used to sit there and talk to friends or say I used to give time to myself. There was a Parag booth in front of it, where we used to go to eat food. After living in Lucknow for about five years, it never felt like I am a guest of this city. It feels exactly like home. Even today I remember the moments spent in the city.
