IMD has issued a yellow alert for medium to heavy rains in 23 districts of eastern UP including Gonda, Bahraich, Balrampur, Shravasti. At the same time, till August 4, heavy rains are expected in Gonda, Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Hardoi, Barabanki, Bijnor, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur and its surrounding areas of Uttar Pradesh.

Heavy rain expected in Uttarakhand

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rains at many places in Uttarakhand in the next 24 hours. The IMD has issued a red alert in Tehri, Pauri, Dehradun, Champawat, Nainital, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar today. Due to heavy rains, schools will remain closed in Dehradun, Pauri, Nainital and Tehri today. The Disaster Control Department has asked people to avoid traveling to the mountains and has also forbidden them from leaving their homes unnecessarily.
