PM Narendra Modi to visit Kargil War Memorial
On the occasion of 25 years of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the Kargil War Memorial in Drass on Leh Highway. Here he will pay tribute to the martyrs and also encourage the Indian Army.
Let us tell you, on completion of 25 years, special preparations are being made at the Kargil War Memorial. This is a place where tourists come from far and wide every year and realize how the soldiers of our country defeated the Pakistani army and attained martyrdom.
How is the view of Kargil War Memorial?
When you visit the Kargil War Memorial, you will see the Amar Jawan Jyoti and the high tricolor flag fluttering proudly. On its left side, you will see the names of the martyred soldiers written on the stones. This memorial is made of pink sandstone. The Amar Jawan Jyoti burns continuously inside this memorial. At present, it has become the main center of attraction among tourists in Kargil.
The museum here is very special
There is a museum near the Kargil War Memorial. It houses photographs taken during the war, army symbols, war documents, miniatures of the Himalayan mountain range. There is a special war gallery named after Captain Manoj Pandey which displays Pakistani weapons and photographs seized during the war. Along with this, tourists will get to see an elegy written by Dr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan at the entrance.
The walls of this war memorial are inscribed with the names of the soldiers and officers who sacrificed their lives. The Kargil War Memorial site overlooks the Tololing Heights, Tiger Hill and Point 4875 (Batra Top), where the war between India and Pakistan took place.

Know the address and timings of Kargil War Memorial
The Kargil War Memorial is built by the Indian Army in the town of Drass near the city of Kargil in the Kargil district of Ladakh, India. It is located on the Srinagar-Leh National Highway 1D, about 5 km from the city center of Tiger Hill in Kargil. You can reach Drass by road from Srinagar to Leh. After which you can take regular buses and taxis from Srinagar via National Highway 1 to visit the Kargil War Memorial.
