Located in the historic city of Sasaram in Bihar, Shergarh Fort is an ancient fort that has a glorious heritage of its own. It is believed that the fort was built in the 16th century by Sher Shah Suri, the founder of the Sur Empire. Sher Shah Suri, who is also known for introducing the 'Grand Trunk Road' and the Rupee (Indian currency), left behind many magnificent buildings, one of which is the Shergarh Fort.
Over the centuries, this fort has seen many battles and many kings have come and gone here. This is the reason why the architecture seen in the fort complex is constantly changed and repaired.
