Taking membership from Noida based company turned costly
Ankit Gupta, a resident of Delhi, got married in the year 2022. For several months, he and his partner were deciding where to go for their honeymoon. After a lot of research and consultation, the two together chose the honeymoon destination. Let us tell you, Ankit had taken a membership of Rs 5 lakh from a Noida-based company. In which the company had given an international package to two people for five years. In such a situation, Ankit and his wife had planned to go to Dubai, which was going to be free according to the company's policy.
The company cheated at the last moment
Ankit had thought that the Noida company would manage everything and he would not have to face any problem on the honeymoon, but it did not happen as Ankit had thought. Actually, the trip of both of them was finalized on 15 November 2022. After which Ankit told that the Noida company had said that they would make other arrangements including hotel booking, tickets. When both of them reached Dubai trusting the company, they were shocked. Nothing happened as per the promises made by the company. The company had not arranged any hotel, taxi in any way. Nor was any booking done.
The company did not make any booking, the couple bore the expenses themselves
Ankit said, this was my honeymoon. My wife and I were trusting the company. We thought that the company would book the hotel as per its convenience, but it did not happen. Even after repeatedly contacting the company, we did not get any help. We were very sad. We had come here to make good memories, but we realized that the Noida company had cheated us. However, later we were forced to book a hotel room for 5 days with our own money. We also bore other expenses, which the company had to bear. We also bore the cost of air travel.
The company learned a lesson, will have to return Rs 10 lakh
After returning from Dubai, a Delhi youth had first appealed for justice in the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission against the Noida company. However, today the decision has come in favor of Ankit. Taking action in this case, the commission has asked the company to return Rs 10 lakh to Ankit with 9 percent interest rate.
