Randeep Hooda shares insights into his preparation for the role of freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar in the upcoming film “Swatantrya Veer Savarkar.” In a recent Instagram post commemorating Savarkar’s death anniversary, Hooda posted pictures of himself inside a cell in Kalapani, where Savarkar was imprisoned. He disclosed that he voluntarily confined himself to the jail to better understand the challenges Savarkar faced during his imprisonment. The actor expressed deep respect for Savarkar’s endurance, highlighting the harsh conditions of the 7 by 11-foot cell where he spent 11 years, often in solitary confinement. The post also featured the film’s poster.

Randeep Hooda is set to make his directorial debut with “Swatantrya Veer Savarkar,” scheduled for release on March 22. The film, co-starring Ankita Lokhande, aims to bring to life the remarkable story of Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, exploring his vision and revolutionary contributions. Directed and co-written by Randeep Hooda in collaboration with Utkarsh Naithani, the movie is a production of Anand Pandit Motion Pictures, Randeep Hooda Films, Legend Studios, and Avak Films.
