The new release date of 'Maharaj' will be announced soon

The film was earlier scheduled to stream on Netflix on June 14, but it was banned before that. Now that the way for release is clear, the makers will soon announce the new release date.

Why is there a ruckus over the film Maharaj?

Actually, it is being said that this film shows the hearing of a defamation case of the year 1862, which was decided based on the decision of British judges. Religious leader Jadunathji had filed this case against social reformer Karsandas Mulji. Jadunathji was one of the leaders of the 'Pushti Marg Sect'. Mulji had written an article in a weekly newspaper claiming that Jadunathji had sexual relations with his female followers. He used to force the wives of male followers for sex. After this article full of claims, religious leader Jadunathji filed a case against Mulji, but then the British court rejected this petition.
