New Delhi: Due to heavy rains in many states for the last few days, the rains lost in this monsoon season were compensated on Saturday. Now, in the monsoon season that started in June, there has been one percent more rain across the country. For the first time in this season, the monsoon has reached surplus. At the same time, an alert of heavy rain has been issued for the next few days in Punjab, Haryana, Eastern Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Western Madhya Pradesh. There is an alert of heavy rain in Odisha till July 7, in Arunachal Pradesh till July 9, in Assam and Meghalaya on July 9 and 10.
How much rain fell where?According to the Meteorological Department, the normal rainfall during monsoon from June 1 till now is 213.3 mm across the country. So far 214.9 mm of rain has been recorded in this season. The highest rainfall has been recorded in Meghalaya at 1248.4 mm, Goa at 1167.7 mm. Apart from this, Assam has received 600.3 mm rainfall, Tripura at 605.0 mm, Andaman Nicobar at 629.6 mm. Whereas the state with the least rainfall is Ladakh at 14.1 mm, Haryana at 61.3 mm, Chandigarh at 90.3 mm, Punjab at 68.3 mm. According to the Meteorological Department, during the monsoon so far, six states have received less rainfall, 21 states have received normal rainfall, 5 states have received more than normal rainfall and 4 states have received much more than normal rainfall.
