The lawyers were adamant on withdrawing the fine in the Supreme Court, the court warned of issuing a notice of contempt

The first case was for non-payment of bail amount

In fact, Lucknow lawyer Ashok Pandey appeared before the bench of Justice Abhay S Oka and Justice Augustine G Masih in the first case today. Where the bench reprimanded him for not depositing the bail amount of Rs 50,000. Let us tell you that this fine was imposed by the Supreme Court on the petition rejected last year, in which he had challenged the appointment of Supreme Court lawyers as High Court judges. Today, while hearing the bench, the bench said that after the court imposed the fine, you went abroad. Now you cannot say that you do not have 50 thousand rupees to deposit. On which lawyer Ashok Pandey said that he has not got a single case since last year. His foreign trip was sponsored by his children. My children are rich, not me.

After which the bench said that you deposit the fine amount in a week or else we will issue a contempt notice. Are you ready to pay in 2 weeks or not? You are a member of the bar, we request you to give a clear answer. After this the court gave him time till August 5 and said that if the fine is not paid then the court will issue a contempt notice.

The second case also turned out to be of non-payment of bail amount

After that, in another case, lawyer Ashok Pandey was severely reprimanded by another bench of Justice BR Gavai and Justice KV Vishwanathan. Actually, Ashok Pandey had challenged the restoration of Rahul Gandhi's Lok Sabha membership. While rejecting Ashok Pandey's petition, the court imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on him. Which he has not paid yet.

Ashok Pandey has filed 200 PILs so far

While hearing the case today, Justice BR Gavai refused to withdraw the fine, then lawyer Ashok Pandey got angry. He warned lawyer Ashok Pandey in a strict tone that if you speak even a single word after this, then a case of contempt of court will be registered against you. After this, the Justice asked the lawyer how many PILs have you filed so far and how many times the court has imposed a fine? Responding to the court's question, lawyer Ashok Pandey said that I have filed 200 PILs. Justice Gavai got angry again on hearing 200, after which lawyer Ashok Pandey said that I have faith in the decision of the Constitution Bench, please withdraw the fine.

On this, Justice Gavai said that now you go, if you do not leave the podium, we will be embarrassed. Are you accepting the notice of contempt or leaving the court room. However, after this, lawyer Ashok Pandey did not agree to leave the court room. After which Justice Gavai got angry and said that now you go or should I call a court martial? After Justice Gavai said this much, lawyer Pandey said that he is leaving the court, but take back the fine.
