Thalapathy Vijay has created a new history with his new release 'The Greatest of All Time'. While the film has earned a lot of money in the country and the world in the first weekend of four days, the Kollywood superstar has written a new chapter in South cinema. In just four days, his film GOAT has earned around Rs 288 crore worldwide. He is the only superstar of South cinema, whose 8 films are included in the 200 crore club at the global box office. GOAT, directed by Venkat Prabhu, was released in theaters on Thursday, September 5. Vijay is in a double role in the film. Released with a bumper advance booking of Rs 24.50 crore in the country, the film earned a brilliant Rs 44.00 crore on the opening day. However, on the second day i.e. Friday, the film's earnings fell drastically and it did a business of Rs 25.50 crore. But now it has jumped again on the weekend i.e. Saturday and Sunday.

According to the report of sacnilk, on the fourth day i.e. Sunday, GOAT has made a net collection of Rs 34.20 crores across the country including Tamil, Telugu and Hindi versions. A day before on Saturday, it had earned Rs 33.50 crores. In this way, this action film has made a total business of Rs 137.20 crores across the country in the first weekend. On Sunday, once again a huge crowd was seen in the theatres of South. On an average, 71% of the seats were occupied by the audience.
