New Delhi. Team India's experienced all-rounder Shardul Thakur underwent a foot surgery in London on Wednesday. He informed about this on social media. After the surgery, Shardul may stay away from cricket for about 3 months. This is the second foot surgery of 32-year-old Shardul. Earlier in 2019 also, he had a foot surgery. Shardul has played 83 international matches for India, which includes 47 ODIs, 11 Tests and 25 T20s.

Shardul Thakur has shared two of his photos from the hospital on his Instagram page. In which he is seen lying on the bed after surgery. It is clearly visible in the photo that Shardul has undergone surgery on his right leg. Sharing both the photos, he wrote, 'The operation was successful.' The injury resurfaced during the South Africa tour earlier this year. However, he managed to make a brilliant comeback in the Ranji Trophy last season and helped Mumbai win its 42nd title. He had requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for a long break between matches to give the players enough time to recover and prepare.
