Bollywood stars Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh have commenced shooting for “Singham Again,” the fifth installment of director Rohit Shetty’s cop universe. Ajay Devgn, who reprises his fan-favorite cop character, Bajirao Singham, in the film, expressed his gratitude for the love received over the years in an Instagram post.
“12 years ago, we gave Indian Cinema its biggest cinematic Cop Universe. With all the love we have received over the years, the force got stronger and the Singham family got bigger. Today we come together to take our franchise ahead with Singham Again! #RohitShetty #SinghamAgain,” wrote Devgn.
“Singham Again” is the third installment of the Singham series, following “Singham” (2011) and “Singham Returns” (2014). It is part of Rohit Shetty’s cop cinematic universe, which also includes Ranveer Singh’s “Simmba” (2018) and Akshay Kumar’s “Sooryavanshi” (2021).
Ranveer Singh, who reprises his role as Sangram Bhalerao aka Simmba, expressed his excitement about returning to the character for the next cop universe movie. He wrote on Instagram, “Shubharambh! All set to reprise one of my most loved characters from the Rohit Shetty Cop Universe – SIMMBA in #SinghamAgain! We seek your love and blessings for our new journey @ajaydevgn @itsrohitshetty.”
Rohit Shetty also shared his enthusiasm for the film, stating, “When we made ‘Singham,’ we never thought that it would turn into a Cop Universe! Today, we begin filming ‘Singham Again’… the 5th film in our cop franchisee. Isme hum apni jaan laga denge! Bas aapke pyaar aur dua ki zaroorat hai!”
Akshay Kumar, who plays DCP Veer Sooryavanshi in the cop universe, sent his best wishes to his co-stars, expressing his eagerness to join them on the sets.
“Singham Again” promises to be another thrilling addition to Rohit Shetty’s successful cop universe, offering fans more high-octane action and entertainment.
