Pooja Bhatt had removed the smiley from her film!

Smiley Suri recently spoke about being dropped from her cousin Pooja Bhatt's 2006 directorial film 'Holiday'. She said that even after being dropped from 'Holiday', she got a role in Mahesh Bhatt's film 'Kalyug', but the filmmaker could not give her any other role due to pressure from his daughter Pooja.

Smiley went into depression because of Pooja

Smiley Suri, now 41, while talking to Siddharth Kannan said, 'Pooja threw me out of my first film 'Holiday'. I am happy that I was thrown out of the film because I got a chance to do 'Kalyug' which was a hit.' She further said, 'I was going through a lot of shame and depression because she used to write a lot about me in 'Mid Day'.'

Pooja put pressure on Mahesh Bhatt

When Smiley was suffering from depression after being ousted from 'Holiday', Mahesh Bhatt came to her aid and offered her 'Kalyug'. She said, 'When I came back from the sets of Holiday, I locked myself in a room. At that time Bhatt sahab (Mahesh Bhatt) told me that I will do 'Kalyug'. I think after 'Kalyug' Bhatt sahab could not offer me any film because he had to listen to his daughter and I don't blame him for this.'

'This is a painful time, I don't want to talk'

When asked if she ever revealed the reason behind her ouster from 'Holiday', she said, “It was his decision. I actually created that project. I worked with choreographer Sandip Soparrkar. We rehearsed. It was his decision to oust me, but I will definitely say that I learnt a lot while working on that film for six months. The reason behind my ouster is known only to him. A lot happened and it was a painful time, so I don't want to talk about it.”
