Now the court's decision has come in this. The Bombay High Court has finally dismissed Mamta Kulkarni's case. The court said that it is quashing the FIR registered against Mamta for lack of evidence. Reportedly, a bench of Justices Bharti Dangre and Manjusha Deshpande dismissed the criminal case saying

Mamta Kulkarni's husband is believed to be the mastermind

Mamta reportedly claimed before the court that she has been 'made a scapegoat in the drug scam.' In 2018, Mamta Kulkarni had approached the High Court to quash the criminal proceedings against her. Mamta's husband Vicky Goswami is believed to be the mastermind of the racket that manufactured and produced ephedrine.

Police had recovered goods worth Rs 80 lakh

According to the Hindustan Times report, her petition said, “Only on the ground that the petitioner i.e. Mamta has a special relationship with co-accused Vicky Goswami, she cannot be made an accused.” On April 12, 2016, the Anti-Narcotics Cell department of Thane Police stopped two cars and seized 2-3 kg of ephedrine. Their value was reported to be around Rs 80 lakh. 10 people were arrested in this case. 7 others including the actress were declared wanted. Police had said that Mamta Kulkarni was involved in a meeting between an accused, his partner Vicky Goswami and others at a hotel in Kenya. In 2017, Goswami was detained by the US Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA).
