The blast, suspected to be triggered by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), caused injuries to at least 10 individuals at the Brookfield cafe in East Bengaluru. Following the incident, the Karnataka Police filed a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Explosives Substances Act, subsequently transferring the investigation to the NIA this week.

It is speculated that the suspect utilized multiple public buses for transporting the explosive device and fleeing the scene. Additionally, during his escape, the suspect may have made stops at various locations, including a Muslim religious center where a baseball cap worn by the suspect was discovered. The investigation is ongoing, as stated by the Karnataka Home Minister.
