New Delhi: After assuming the new role of Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi's attitude has changed. He is quite aggressive. A different edge is visible in his attacks on the Modi government. He is constantly cornering the government on issues related to youth and common people like paper leak, Agniveer, inflation. His very aggressive attitude was also seen in Parliament. It is a different matter that the government is accusing him of misleading the public through misleading claims. Rahul Gandhi, excited by the results of the Lok Sabha elections, is not stopping. On Friday morning, he left for Hathras. On the way, he reached Pilkhana village in Aligarh and met the families of those killed in the Hathras stampede. He tried to heal their wounds. After this, he reached Hathras and understood the pain of the victim families. A different avatar of Rahul Gandhi came to the fore in Hathras. That of a sensitive politician. That of a leader in whose presence the victims can cry by laying their head. A leader with whom they can share their grief by hugging him. The victims expressed their pain in front of Rahul Gandhi. I remembered the horrific scene of the stampede in the satsang. A victim told how his daughter died in agony in the lap of another daughter. Rahul Gandhi kept listening to the pain of the victims one by one. He assured them of help. He said that he would raise this issue in Parliament.

In Hathras, Rahul Gandhi was seen as not only a sensitive but also a serious leader. More than 123 people have died in a stampede at a self-proclaimed baba's satsang, but the former Congress president always tried to ensure that his visit is not seen through the prism of politics. Rahul Gandhi said, 'Many families have been affected and many people have died… I do not want to politicise this matter. There are flaws in the system… I think these people should get more compensation because these families are very poor. I request the UP CM to give compensation with an open heart… They need it, more compensation should be given as soon as possible… The family members say that the police arrangements were not adequate…'

On July 2, 123 people died in a stampede during the satsang of self-proclaimed Baba Surajpal alias Narayan Sakar Hari alias Bhole Baba in Hathras, UP. So far, the police have arrested 6 accused in this case. The police have made Baba's chief sevadar Devprakash Madhukar the main accused, who is still absconding. The police have announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh on him. Meanwhile, self-proclaimed Baba's lawyer AP Singh claims that Madhukar is undergoing treatment. Narayan Sakar Hari's name is not even mentioned in the FIR lodged by the police. Baba has also gone underground since the incident. However, a senior UP Police official has said that Baba will be questioned if needed during the investigation.

After June 4, Rahul Gandhi is seen in a different avatar. The results of the Lok Sabha elections were declared on that day. After the elections, Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister for the third consecutive time, but this time BJP could not get a majority on its own. The BJP, which boasted of 'Abki Baar 400 Paar', could barely win 240 seats. Congress, which won 44 and 52 seats respectively in 2014 and 2019, reached 99 seats this time. Although this is the third worst performance of Congress till date, there is a different enthusiasm in the opposition parties, especially the Congress, due to the Modi government running on the crutches of the alliance. Rahul Gandhi is trying his best to maintain that enthusiasm of the party and the workers.
