President Murmu hosted dinner for PM Modi and Union ministers, see who all attended

New Delhi: President Draupadi Murmu hosted a dinner in honour of the Union Council of Ministers led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Rashtrapati Bhavan here on Monday. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and his wife also attended the dinner. “President Draupadi Murmu hosted a banquet in honour of the Union Council of Ministers led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” the President's Office said in a post on X.

Many eminent leaders including PM Modi, Amit Shah, S Jaishankar, Piyush Goyal, Nirmala Sitharaman, Shivraj Singh Chauhan, JP Nadda, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar attended this dinner. Earlier today, on Monday, the first meeting of the first session of the eighteenth Lok Sabha began in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi, members of his Council of Ministers as well as other newly elected members took oath of membership of the House. Acting Speaker (Pro tem Speaker) Bhartruhari Mahtab started the proceedings of the House and administered oath to the members. Prime Minister Modi has returned to power for the third consecutive time after the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections. Modi and his Council of Ministers were sworn in on June 9. Prime Minister Modi has been elected from Varanasi Lok Sabha seat for the third time.

Lok Sabha resonated with the slogan Jai Shri Ram

As soon as the proceedings began, Modi, being the leader of the House, was the first to take the oath. During this, the members of the ruling party raised slogans of 'Modi Modi' and 'Jai Shri Ram'. When the Prime Minister was taking the oath, the opposition members, including Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, were standing at their places holding a copy of the Constitution in their hands. When Home Minister Amit Shah came to take the oath, the opposition members also held a copy of the Constitution in their hands, although during this time they remained seated at their places.
