He told that an FIR was registered against Navtej Singh in January 2002 under section 419/420/468/471 of IPC. In December 2006, this accused Navjet was declared a proclaimed offender by the court. After a long struggle of almost 22 years, IGI Airport Police has arrested the accused from a hideout in Pathankot, Punjab.

What is the whole matter?
According to IGI Airport Police Deputy Commissioner Usha Ranganani, this case is of 2002. On the night of 24 January, this person named Navtej Singh was brought from Germany to IGI Airport. During the immigration check at IGI Airport, it was found that Navtej was deported by the German security agencies and he had reached IGI Airport from Germany on an emergency certificate.

This thing came to light during interrogation
During immigration check, it was found that Navezat was issued a passport from Chandigarh RPO. On this passport he reached Germany via Bangkok. After reaching Germany, he had lodged a complaint of loss of passport. On the basis of this complaint, Navtej had applied for an emergency certificate in Germany and since then he was living illegally in different cities of Germany.

Why was he deported?
Navtej Singh was issued an emergency certificate in Germany, but the security agencies there became suspicious that he was adopting illegal tactics with the intention of settling in Germany. On the basis of this suspicion, the German security agencies had deported him to Delhi's IGI Airport. Navtej was arrested after reaching IGI Airport.

After the arrest, Navtej was preliminary interrogated and then he was released on bail. After being released on bail, Navtej absconded so much that he was not caught by the police again for 22 years. While talking to Navtej for 22 years, such a mistake was made, for which the police was waiting for almost two decades.
