Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday asked the residents of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) to come to India and become a part of it. He told the PoK residents that we consider you our own while Pakistan considers you foreigners. Actually, the Defence Minister has come to campaign for the BJP candidate for the upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Normally this may seem like a part of an election speech. However, this is not the first time that such an attitude has been shown by the BJP towards PoK.
Mention of Pakistan's black deed
Rajnath Singh did not limit himself to offering the people of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir to become Indians. The Defence Minister also mentioned the dark deeds of Pakistan in his speech. He said that the Additional Solicitor General of the neighbouring country (Pakistan) has recently filed an affidavit saying that POK is foreign land. He said that we will do so much development in Jammu and the valley that after seeing it, the people of POK will say that we do not want to live in Pakistan, we will go to India.

Before Rajnath Singh, Union Minister Amit Shah had called Pakistan-occupied Kashmir a part of India. Before the Lok Sabha elections in March this year, Shah had called PoK a part of India.
